When you need authoritative information, use official sources. This page lists the types of official resources to look for; search for the current URL rather than relying on a link that may change.
VisChat is not affiliated with any of these bodies. Always confirm you are on the genuine official site before entering personal data or making payments.
Where to look
| Need | Official source to find |
|---|---|
| Scholarship applications | China Scholarship Council (CSC) / “Study in China” portal |
| Visa requirements | The Chinese embassy or consulate in your country |
| Degree recognition / verification | China’s national academic verification services |
| Health/entry rules | Your embassy and university’s international office |
| Specific programme details | The university’s own official website |
Tips for verifying a source
- Check the domain (official Chinese universities use
edu.cn; government bodies use.gov.cn). - Look for the site’s “About” and contact details.
- Be cautious of look-alike sites and paid “portals”.
- Prefer links from the university, embassy or ministry directly.
How to use these
- Use official sources for requirements, deadlines and payments.
- Use your university’s international office for practical, local questions.
- Use VisChat for overviews and comparisons, then verify on the official page.
URLs change. Always navigate from the official organisation’s own website rather than a third-party link.
