The Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC), administered by the China Scholarship Council, is one of the main funding routes for international students in China. It is a competitive, merit-based scholarship applied for through official channels — not through private agents.

How to apply (channels)

You normally apply through one of these routes:

Each route has its own agency number and deadline. You usually also apply to the university itself.

Deadlines

Most CSC applications open around December–January and close between February and April, ahead of a September start. Exact dates differ by route and by university.
